Mannequin · StandUnlike clothing, headwear has a specific challenge: a hat cannot be placed on a flat surface to show its real volume. We use mannequin heads or specialized stands to preserve the item's natural shape.
Knitted beanies require side lighting to make the stitches look 3D rather than flat. Caps need side angles to evaluate crown height and brim curve. Felt hats are shot from three angles to convey the full form of the brim and crown.
